Goux is a young design firm based in Brooklyn, NY that produces architecture and domestic objects. It was established in 2016 by Steven Gertner and Gabrielle Marcoux.
Gertner and Marcoux met at MOS Architects, where they worked on films, art installations and cultural projects. Since then, Gertner has pursued design collaborations with several artists and has developed an expertise in the design and manufacture of construction fastening systems. Marcoux has worked at renowned architecture offices, including the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and nARCHITECTS, with a focus on museums and large cultural projects.
Goux’s work incorporates both handmade processes and techniques of mass production at a range of scales, from precisely machined objects and carefully worked ceramics to detail-oriented interior design projects and speculative architectural proposals.
Steven Gertner holds a Master in Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Gabrielle Marcoux holds a Master in Architecture from McGill University and is a registered architect in the state of New York.
